Skiing

Skiing in Holland? Where are the hills? Do they even have snow in the winter? The answer is quite simple: Indoor skiing halls. These establishments offer skiing and snowboarding for beginners and advanced. SnowPlanet in Velzen-Noord (near Amsterdam), located near Amsterdam, even offers the possibility to ski or snowboard on real snow. The two slopes are 230 and 100 meters long. It might be a good idea to drive to these indoor ski centers, instead of driving for hours to the real ski-mountains. Another advantage of indoor skiing is that it is possible to practice your skiing or snowboard skills from time to time. This could mean that you don’t necessarily have to take ski classes next time you go skiing and impress everyone with your skiing skills.

The second best option for people, who don’t fancy indoor skiing halls, is to visit Germany. Germany offers high mountains, beautiful surroundings and of course the ´Bratwurst´. The nearest ski area is Winterberg, which is only 280 km away from the Netherlands. Tip: leave home early; Winterberg can be very crowded during holidays.
